The love of acting and the silver screen runs in Gwyneth Paltrow's very veins as she is born to late director Bruce Paltrow and actress Blythe Danner (still visible as Will's alcoholic ma in the hit sitcom "Will and Grace," though only in reruns now since the Emmy-winning series has closed).
Like actress Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth is also the goddaughter of acclaimed director, Steven Spielberg, in whose 1991 film, "Hook," she appeared as a young Wendy, a role so small it could have been a cameo appearance. But that brief exposure gave her the much-needed attention a brilliant actress like her needs in order to earn a break. In 1998, she got the role as Shakespeare's love interest in "Shakespeare in Love," earning her not only an Oscar and a SAG award but several other roles ("The Talented Mr. Ripley," "A Perfect Murder," and "Proof") as well. She is happily married to Coldplay's lead singer, Chris Martin.
