Famke Beumer Janssen, known for her role in the recently concluded "X-Men" series, was born November 5, 1965 to a Dutch-American family in the Netherlands. In 1984, she settled in the United States, particularly in New York, to start working as a model. Being just an inch lower than six feet, the Elite Model Management saw her as perfect for the campaigns of posh brands like Chanel and Victoria's Secret.
Later, she went to Los Angeles to start her acting stint and won guest roles in a number of TV series before landing a role as Pierce Brosnan's nemesis in "GoldenEye."
