Born in Berkeley, California as Nicole Camille Escovedo, Nicole was then adopted by Lionel and Brenda Harvey-Richie. Although her childhood can be described as dramatic and tumultuous, Nicole Richie is most known for her appearances in the hit reality TV series The Simple Life. Unknown to many, Richie actually worked long hours when she was little in order to become an Olympic figure skater. Aside from that, she also studied playing the cello, piano, violin, and guitar.

She has appeared in music videos and made her debut in acting by doing the supporting role Kelly Stepford in the movie Kids In America. She has also released a best-selling novel, The Truth About Diamonds, and is currently working on her second book, which happens to be a style guide.

Is it a boy?

Our x-party girl Nicole Richie held a baby shower on Sunday and the guest that came brought along many gifts that gave the impression that MAYBE Nicole was having a boy. I don't think there will be any more boob flashing from Nicole:(
