Katie Holmes' Drastic Detox

The last person you would expect to ever set foot on a detox clinic is now undergoing a serious "internal cleanup" at one of those specialized centers.
30-year-old actress Katie Holmes has checked herself into a detoxification clinic and is following an extenuating diet as a prelude to conceiving a second child.
By Tom Cruise's request, Katie has been on an herbal drinks diet that also includes some secret purification procedures to eliminate toxic substances. To top it off last week the Dawson's Creek star was admitted to a center that specializes in helping future moms to cleanse their bodies, mostly those who have had drug-related issues in the past, which obviously is not Katie Holmes' case.
This is apparently the reason why the couple didn't attend the 2009 Oscars Awards ceremony. A source said: "Katie has almost rid her body of toxins but sometimes it makes her lethargic. Tom's encouraging her to stick to the diet because they are hoping to conceive baby number two." The source added that Katie is following the teachings of the Scientology Second Dynamic, a book that advises on conception and marriage.
