Gabrielle Union, born Gabrielle Monique Union, may have started her career making the rounds of various teen movies like "10 Things I Hate About You," "Love and Basketball," and the cheerleading flick that inspired two sequels ("Bring It On"), but there is something more to Gabrielle than meets the eye.
A native of Nebraska, Gabrielle was a high school athlete and graduated with honors from the University of California in Los Angeles where she transferred after deciding that law school isn't for her. The modeling agency where she interned while studying absorbed her, and this became her stepping stone for the television and the movies. Gabrielle has been hailed by the Queen of Talk for being a headstrong African-American woman, speaking for women who has suffered violence, having survived a rape herself when she was only 19.

Last night, Hip Hop producer Jermaine Dupri threw a party at Dreamz ATL, a nightclub in Atlanta. As expected, famous Hip-Hopers Diddy, Usher and Nelly where there, accompanied by beautiful ebony queens Gabrielle Union, Regina King and Larenz Tate. Things were going quite smoothly, and everybody was having a good time, when shots were fired right into the nightclub.
