With Bijou Phillips' tumultuous family background, you'd think she'd be all over the place. On the contrary, Bijou's life turned out just fine once she started focusing on her passions. She is an accomplished actress and singer. Her role in James Toback's Black and White has gained for her acclaim as an actress. This was followed up with key roles in the movies Bully and The Door in the Floor. She was also in Havoc, a film with Anne Hathaway and directed by Barbara Kopple.

As musician, Bijou shines as a solo artist. Her debut album I'd Rather Eat Glass came out in 1999. She is in the middle of working on her followup album. She has also been on tour with the Lilith Fair Music Festival.
